Katamatite Primary School has an enrolment of 50 children and is situated 25 km south of Cobram.  The school was established in 1871 and services the Katamatite community and the farming families in the surrounding area.

 

The school is serviced by one bus which covers a wide network of roads, enabling families in the surrounding area to transport their children to and from the school free of charge.

 

The school has 4 classrooms including a computer centre.  The school playground is expansive and  features an adventure playground and a large sporting area.  The classrooms surround a lovely courtyard which features shady trees and well maintained gardens.

 

Katamatite Primary School, with a current student enrolment of 50 is set in well landscaped grounds in the small township of Katamatite, 21 kms south of Cobram on the Benalla-Tocumwal Road.  Students are drawn from the township and the surrounding rural areas that are serviced by a school bus.  The area is one of primary production:  dairying, beef, wool, fat-lambs and cropping.

 

The present school building opened in 1960.  The school has three classrooms, a special purpose room and an Administration block, and is currently staffed by four teachers with classes organised into Prep/1/2,  2/3/4 and 5/6.  A Business Manger, Literacy/Integration Aide and cleaner make up the remainder of the staff.
